DeKalb County 'Pimp' Found Guilty In Hotel Murder: DA
A woman accused of fatally shooting a man at a Courtyard by Marriott hotel because he refused to pay her prostitute, will serve life.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A woman accused of killing a man in a hotel after an argument over money was found guilty last week, according to DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston.
On March 28, Shauntae Taylor, 30, was charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses in connection with the shooting death of 28-year-old Miguel Munoz, according to a news release.
The victim’s body was found on the floor by a hotel housekeeper, police said. Munoz was at the Courtyard by Marriott on Executive Park Drive in Brookhaven on Sept. 4, 2019. He was shot in the upper abdomen, police said. Around 4:30 a.m. Taylor and another woman, who she was prostituting visitied Munoz in his hotel room, according to the release.

“Defendant Taylor left the two alone and upon her return became angered that the young woman had changed her mind about engaging in drugs and sexual activity,” the release stated.
Taylor demanded Munoz “pay for their time.” When he refused, according to testimony at trial, Taylor repeatedly struck the victim in the head with a gun.

The other young woman ran from the room, according to the release. The victim was then shot and left for dead, according to the release.
Surveillance video showed Taylor and the woman drive off. A fugitive squad located Taylor at a nearby Days Inn motel two weeks after the crime, according to the release.
Taylor was sentenced to a term of life plus 25 years in prison by DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Asha Jackson, who presided over the trial.
