Captain S.R. Fore with DeKalb police told Patch that the alleged shooter entered the home at 1783 S. Ponce de Leon Ave. at approximately 8 a.m. after neighbors tipped him off to the possibility that a squatter was inside the home. The alleged shooter is a relative of the proper homeowner, Fore said.

Upon entering the home, the man encountered another man living inside the home and allegedly fired on him, Fore said. The alleged squatter, a white man in his mid to late 30s, was fatally wounded. His identity has not been determined as of Monday afternoon.
