DeKalb Inmate Found Unresponsive In Cell, Dies: Sheriff

DECATUR — A DeKalb County Jail inmate recently died of an unknown while incarcerated, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Authorities said Michael Breedlove, 33, was found unresponsive in his cell Friday. Emergency medical services were performed, but Breedlove was pronounced dead at a local hospital, authorities said.

Breedlove has been in jail since July, when he was arrested on various charges that included the purchase, manufacture and distribution or sale of marijuana, authorities said.

DeKalb County's Office of Professional Standards is investigating his death.
