DeKalb Interim CEO Launches Internal Investigation
Lee May will grant outside investigators total access to information and complete cooperation from county employees.

Investigators who had their hands in the examination of Atlanta Public Schools in wake of its cheating sandal will soon begin working on a similar project in DeKalb County.
Interim county CEO Lee May announced during a press conference on Wednesday that both Mike Bowers and Richard Hyde will have the power to look at anything and talk to anyone in county government regarding the extent of corruption involving DeKalb officials, WSB-TV said. Bowers and Hyde were involved with the 10-month long investigation into the nearby school system.
DeKalb has been rocked with corruption and ethics scandals in recent months, from a DeKalb County commissioner admitting she used county funds to pay for personal expenses to the Chairman of the Development Authority of DeKalb County earning $1.5 million in contracts for his private company on the merits of a document whose legality has been questioned.

Last month, a member of the county zoning board pleaded guilty to accepting bribes from a nightclub owner.
