DeKalb Man Arrested In N.C. For Girlfriend's Murder
Sharika Bowman was a mother of five and her youngest child was just one month old, according to police.

DECATUR, GA — A DeKalb County man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend on Friday has been arrested in North Carolina. Police say Keitran Foots, 30, shot Sharika Bowman, 35, multiple times outside her home on Wyndam Drive in southwest DeKalb.
According to DeKalb County Police, Foots lived at the home with Bowman and her five children — the youngest of whom is just a month old.
WSB-TV reports that Bowman was shot in an SUV in the driveway of her home Friday morning after returning from an appointment and just before taking her oldest son to school. Her teen son was inside the home and called 911, according to police.

Local investigators had contacted the sheriff's office in Granville County, North Carolina, after learning that Foots may be there. At about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers found the 2012 Hyundai Genesis he was believed to be driving.

There was a brief car chase, then Foots tried to run away, according to police. Officers set up a perimeter and were able to capture him. Foots was being held in the Granville County Jail Monday morning, waiting to be sent back to DeKalb, where he faces a murder charge.
