Georgia Runoff Election 2022: DeKalb Early Voting Locations, Dates

DeKalb County is preparing for the Dec. 6 U.S. Senate runoff with a polling place change in Dunwoody and by revealing early voting sites.

DECATUR, GA — Ahead of the Dec. 6 U.S. Senate runoff election in Georgia, DeKalb County is changing one of its polling places and has announced its early voting locations.

While early voting across Georgia starts Nov. 28, the Memorial Drive location in DeKalb County will offer advance voting on Nov. 23. After that, there is no early voting Nov.24-26 before it once again resumes Nov.27 -Dec. 2.

Voters who usually go to the Church at Chapel Hill - Dunwoody campus will vote at the Dunwoody Library, 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, according to the county elections office. The location change is only for the runoff between Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock and challenger Herschel Walker.

According to the elections office, voting is available 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Memorial Drive location only.

Voting is available at 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, and Monday, Nov. 28-Friday, Dec. 2, at all locations.

Saturday voting on Nov. 26 is not permitted under Georgia state law, pending litigation. A judge is expected to make a decision Friday afternoon on Saturday voting. The county will update the schedule, locations and hours if it is determined that voting is permitted on Nov. 26, according to elections officials.

Absentee ballot applications are being accepted until Nov. 28.

“We saw great turnout for the general election, and we encourage voters to get out there and vote one more time this year,” said Keisha Smith, executive director of the DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections Office, in a news release.

More advance voting locations are being explored, according to the elections office.
