DeKalb Officer Shoots Suspect in Home Invasion

Ellenwood, GA — A suspect in an alleged home invasion was shot by the homeowner — a Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office employee, according to media reports.

The female detention officer was in her home in the 400 block of Bosenberry Way with her children when three men kicked in a basement door, according to 11 Alive.

The three men fled the scene after they were confronted, but they were located by a K-9 unit. The shot suspect is being treated at an area hospital for a non-life threatening injury.
