DeKalb Officials Add 41 Votes to Lavista Hills Cityhood Referendum

The previously uncounted votes were on provisional ballots.

The AJC is reporting that DeKalb County elections officials added 41 previously uncounted provisional ballots to the referendum on Monday morning. The margin of defeat for Lavista Hills is now 139, instead of the previous 136.

Nonetheless, last week’s election remains under investigation for voting irregularities by the Georgia Secretary of State and the G.B.I.

The Lavista Hills Alliance has retained an attorney to represent pro-cityhood advocates in the investigation.

Secretary of State Brian Kemp is asking the Center for Elections at Kennesaw State University to help in the investigation.
