UPDATE: DeKalb, CDC Safety Personnel Declare Campus All Clear

DeKalb County public safety personnel and their counterparts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters have declared the organization’s campus safe after someone made a threatening phone call on Thursday.

“We are working with the DeKalb police and fire services to investigate the threat and assess the safety and security of the campus,” said Kathy Harben, the CDC’s acting media chief. “The safety and wellbeing of CDC staff and visitors is our first priority.”

Officials gave the all clear at approximately 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Harben told Patch.
