Employees at a DeKalb County restaurant rushed in to help a customer as her SUV caught fire in the drive-thru, according to a report.

WSB-TV says that Joanna Young’s Ford Explorer burst into flames after she tried turning it back on after it suddenly died in the drive-thru lane of the Cook Out on Panola Road. Young and her husband immediately fled the burning vehicle, but Cook Out employees and the restaurant manager rushed to the scene with fire fighting equipment. They were able to stop the fire before a bad situation turned tragic, WSB-TV said.

The station reports that Young’s SUV was severely damaged by the blaze, suffering melted wheel wells and a burned hood. Fortunately, no other damage or any injuries were reported due to the fire.

Young returned to the Cook Out later to thank the employees, who said they were just glad to be of assistance. She left them with a card as a token of her appreciation, WSB-TV said.
