DeKalb To Restock Pond After Sewer Spill
More than 1,600 fish, including crappy and largemouth bass, will be stocked in the pond, where fish died in the February spill.

DECATUR, GA — DeKalb County will restock a pond in Clarkston with more than 1,600 fish after a February sewer spill that killed off many fish that were already there.
The public is invited to watch the restocking, which will happen from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond committed to fully restocking the pond after the Feb. 18 sewer spill caused by a blockage of grease, disposable diapers and wipes in an 8-inch sewer line nearby. The county spent 28 days cleaning and fixing up the pond and "is focused on completing additional assessments and repairs to prevent future spills," according to a news release.
