DeKalb’s Walter Reeves at the Fall Atlanta Home Show Sept. 7 & 8
Walter will kick off the Show's speaker series at noon Friday, Sept. 7 and broadcast his WSB Radio show live Saturday, Sept. 8.

While there are always new exhibits to see and new speakers to hear, Decatur’s Walter Reeves, the Georgia Gardener, has been a popular component of the Atlanta Home Show for over 15 years. The 35th Annual Fall Atlanta Home Show and Outdoor Living Expo will open its doors Friday-Sunday, Sept. 7-9 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Attendees will have two chances to see Reeves at the Show. First, as is tradition, he will kick-off the speaker series on Friday, Sept. 7 at noon, with a presentation on “Lawn & Landscape Tips for Fall”. The following morning, Saturday, Sept. 8, Reeves will broadcast his popular News 95.5 FM and AM750 radio show, “The Lawn & Garden Show” live from 6-9 a.m. To see the broadcast, visitors must arrive at the Cobb Galleria Centre between 6-9 a.m. and say the password, “Reliable” for free admission to the broadcast and to the Show when it opens at 10 a.m.

Brett Tutor, the new carpenter on TLC’s popular show “Trading Spaces”, will be the Show’s featured speaker. He is the former host of the TV show, “New Home Source” and founder of the non-profit, Off the Grid International, which builds water and sanitation systems in remote areas of the world. In addition to his TV and carpentry work, Tutor is a songwriter and guitar player who performs in an Austin, Texas-based band. He will speak at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9. Tutor will bring four of his custom-made American Flag cutting boards for attendees to bid on after each of his presentations. He will personalize each board as requested by the winner, and the proceeds will be donated to Brookwood in Georgetown, (BIG), a Texas-based non-profit that provides meaningful work to adults with functional disabilities.

Red Hare Brewing Company of Marietta will offer beer tastings for attendees age 21 and older, and the $5 tasting donation will benefit HOPE Atlanta, the programs of Travelers Aid.
“The Fall Atlanta Home Show and Outdoor Living Expo offers improvement ideas for all home types and budgets,” said Mark Levine, Show manager. “Attendees can comparison shop for kitchens and baths, porches and decks, heating and electrical systems, doors and windows, pools and hot tubs, home décor and so much more all under one roof.
