DeKalb Schools Pick Naviance as College Solution Provider

Naviance will Streamline College and Career Readiness Initiatives

From Hobsons: Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Naviance, announced today that DeKalb County School District (DCSD) in DeKalb County, Georgia, is the first of the major Atlanta-area school systems to select Naviance as its exclusive provider of college, career and life readiness (CCLR) solutions.

“Naviance is proud to support DeKalb County Schools through our comprehensive college, career and life readiness platform,” said Monica Morrell, general manager of Naviance. “We are confident that the CCLR framework within Naviance will assist the District in achieving its goal of better supporting students throughout their educational journey and we look forward to our continued partnership based on student success.” DeKalb County School District is the third largest school system in Georgia, serving nearly 102,000 students. The District’s decision to implement Naviance supports its mission to “ensure student success, leading to higher education, work, and lifelong learning,” by providing students with a platform that equips them with the tools to achieve long-term college, career, and life goals.

“We want to ensure that every one of our students has all the necessary tools when they graduate to succeed in life,” said DCSD Superintendent/CEO Dr. R. Stephen Green. “With the analytics provided by Naviance, we will be able to make prescriptive changes to our college, career, and life readiness programming to provide our student population with the best support possible.”

After a comprehensive review of seven providers, a cross-functional committee determined that Hobsons was the most responsive and responsible firm and that Naviance was the preferred solution to help the District best meet its goals.

“After reviewing the proposals, it was clear that Naviance was the best fit for our district,” said Manomay Malathip, executive director, Student Advancement. “Naviance’s platform has been proven to support a district of this size and provides individualized solutions that will empower our staff to provide students with more meaningful guidance to make informed CCLR decisions.”
