Dialogues: Life and Death, a Fall Concert by The DeKalb Choral Guild

"Life and Death are not so much antithetical, but rather intimately related experiences." Mary Root, director of the DeKalb Choral Guild.

On November 8th at 8pm at First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates, The DeKalb Choral Guild will present Dialogues: Life and Death, a multimedia presentation combining choral music, spoken word and visual arts, all examining the intimate relationship between life and death.Local artists have been solicited and have submitted thematic digital images to be projected while the chorus sings. The program includes selections from William Schuman’s Carols of Death, Eleanor Daley’s “In Remembrance”, and Norman Dello Joio’s “A Jubilant Song.” A reception will follow the concert with an opportunity to meet the artists: both visual and choral. The website for tickets and more information is www.dekalbchoralguild.org. Tickets are $5, available online and at the door.
