Emory Locked Down After Stabbing

The woman was stabbed Sunday evening, then dropped off at Emory's baseball field, according to university police.

DECATUR, GA — Emory University's campus was locked down Sunday evening after a woman was reportedly stabbed near the school.

Emory Police Department officers were called at 7:01 p.m. Sunday to 701 Peavine Creek Drive, which is the baseball field behind Eagle Row. There, they found a woman who had been stabbed.

According to the woman, who is not affiliated with the university, she was stabbed off campus, then dropped off near the baseball field, where she called 911. The woman was treated by emergency medical services and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate the stabbing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Emory Police Department at 404-727-6111.

Students and others on the campus were advised to "shelter in place" Sunday evening while police investigated the stabbing. An all-clear was issued at about 9 p.m.
