A Very Special Evening w/ Pierre Bensusan - Live at eddie's Attic

Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets will be $23 at the door.

PIERRE BENSUSAN is a French-Algerian guitarist whose music is often characterized as Celtic, folk, world music, New Age, or chamber jazz. He has a reputation as something of an innovator in the field of solo acoustic guitar, including his use of the DADGAD tuning system, and his experimentation with electronics like delays, distortions and volume pedals, which have been largely abandoned on recent tours. Stylistically, his playing exhibits remarkable dynamics and tone control, usually to be found only in the playing of high-profile classical guitarists. Often referred to as the "Mozart of Guitar," Bensusan is considered a virtuoso player by other virtuosos, including, Michael Hedges, who wrote a piece for Bensusan. Recently, Bensusan was featured in Guitar Player Magazine in February 2011. He is currently touring in support of his newest album, "Vividly." Anil Prasad, of Guitar Player Magazine, states, "Bensusan's tenth & latest album, "Vividly," illustrates his cosmopolitan worldview. It offers a unique hybrid listening experience, that spans folk, Celtic, jazz, Brazilian, and Middle Eastern influences."
