Edible Container Gardening: Create a beautiful display

Join Master Gardener, Mary Hines, at the Oakhurst Community Garden and learn how to grow herbs and vegetables in containers. The lecture covers choosing the best containers and soil mixtures; selecting ideal vegetables, herbs and flowers for container growing; making visually stunning arrangements; and the basics of proper light, water, fertilizer, and pest control with an emphasis on organic methods. All students will take home a planted container. You bring the container of your choice (3 to 5 gallons; about 12" wide and deep), and we'll provide soil mix and plants from our veggie sale. A great way to make a mother’s day present! 5 person min. Advance registration required. Register ONLINE at www.oakhurstgarden.org.
