The South Central Farmers started this fourteen-acre community garden as a form of healing after the L.A. riots in 1992 and have since created a miracle in one of the country's most blighted neigbhorhoods. They grow their own food, feed their families and create community.
But now, after the sale to a wealthy developer for millions less than market value, bulldozers are poised to level their 14-acre oasis. "The Garden" follows the plight of the farmers, mostly immigrants from Latin America, organize, fight back, and demand answers from City Hall.
