Internationally acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter and guitar wizard, GEOFF ACHISON, returns to the stage tonight with his soulful, gravelly vocals and upbeat rendition on traditional blues. He has a reputation as a guitarist's guitarist who has developed a blues-funk style all his own that can be delicate one moment and explosive the next. He won over the blues music scene when he took home the "Albert King Award" at the International Blues Challenge. Years of touring, recording, and relentless gigging has seen him share stages with scores of artists including Jorma Kaukonen & Hot Tuna, John Mayer, Levon Helm (of The Band), Hubert Sumlin, Clarence Gatemouth Brown + Aussies Tommy Emmanuel, Dutch Tilders, Phil Manning & Jeff Lang. His band, The Souldiggers, won the "Group Of The Year" at the 2007 Chain Awards in Australia. In the following year, the Guitar Player Magazine's Reader's Poll named Geoff as one of their "Top Ten Hot New Guitarists." One of Geoff's latest releases, "Jammin' In The Attic," on Hittin' the Note Records, was recorded right here at the Attic! The soul, rhythm & blues singer-songwriter is now touring in support of his latest album, "Geoff Achison & The Souldiggers: Recorded Live at Guitars Across The Bay," and you can catch him at the Fur Peach Ranch Guitar Camp in 2012.
