Intro to Animal Husbandry and Cheesemaking

Visit a growing family farm and learn from Angie Peevy, lifelong homesteader, the joys, challenges, and benefits of animal husbandry and making your own farm-fresh delights. In this presentation, Angie and farm owner Pilar will show you how to manage and care for goats, cows and chickens. We will include basic skills like hoof trimming, vaccinating, feeding, forage types and milking. Animals will be on hand. We will demonstrate how to make some simple cheeses and each participant will get to take some home. Basic recipes will be given out on how to make other farm products like goat-milk soap, butter, yogurt, and ice cream.
