James May is a graduate of the University of Houston's M.F.A. program in creative writing where he received fellowships from the Krakow Poetry Seminar and Inprint. His poetry has recently appeared in Green Mountain Review, The New Republic, The New Ohio Review, Pleiades and 32 Poems. From 2008 to 2011 he served as the editor-in-chief of New South. In May 2012 he will graduate with a Ph.D. in English from Georgia State University. He lives in Decatur, Georgia, with his wife, the poet Chelsea Rathburn.
