RUTHIE FOSTER is a gifted singer-songwriter from Texas and recently won the Koko Taylor Award for "Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year" at the 2011 Blues Music Awards. If you thought you were familiar with Ruthie's work before now, you're in for a surprise--she's got a brand new bag of tricks. She's had a lot of changes in her life over the past few years--both personally and professionally and the new music is her venture in stepping out. She has previously spent time touring with a US Navy band and was once contracted with Atlantic Records. Ruthie's music is an eclectic mixture of blues, soul, roots, country, and R&B. From the 2010 Grammy-nominated CD, "The Truth According To Ruthie Foster," Foster is now touring in support of her latest project, "Live at Antone's."
