For many parents, International Baccalaureate (IB) is a puzzle, especially assessment and grading. And yet many schools are signing on to become IB schools, and the IB Diploma is a respected sign of quality and rigor at colleges and universities.
In this session, Cheryl Nahmias, Renfroe Middle School's IB Coordinator, will focus on the big picture: What are the aims of an IB education? What distinguishes it from a more traditional one? Why do assessment and grading need to look so different? What next forRMS students as they move on to DHS? How is IB viewed in the college admissions process?
Lots of opportunity for questions, answers, and discussion, followed by a short PTA-sponsored reception. For more information contact Tom Chapel.
