Fellini's, La Fonda Team Opening Restaurant in East Lake

DECATUR, GA -- The team behind the Fellini’s Pizza and La Fonda Latina restaurants will be opening a new restaurant in East Lake.

Atlanta Eater reported Wednesday that Poor Hendrix will offer “classic dishes that compliment an affordable, but thoughtful wine list,” as well as a bar offering “small plates of salty, spicy, and savory comfort food engineered to go best with drinking in a pub atmosphere.”

Poor Hendrix will be the second of what’s planned to be four restaurants at a new development at Hosea L. Williams Drive and 2nd Avenue. Plans are for it to be open by the fall, Eater reported.

James Beard Award-nominated pastry chef Aaron Russell and his wife, Jamie, will run the restaurant.

Clay Harper and Mike Nelson, who own seven Fellini’s and five La Fonda locations in the Atlanta area, also plan a barbecue restaurant, The Greater Good Barbecue, for the development.
