Flood Watch in Effect Through Christmas Morning

Christmas 2015 throughout Georgia will be warm and wet.

Peachtree City GA -- A flood watch for much of metro Atlanta remains in effect through 7 am Christmas morning, as the jet stream continues to bring unseasonably warm and wet weather into our communities for late December.

The National Weather Service says between two and five inches of rainfall are possible by Christmas morning. Severe thunderstorms are also possible, especially Wednesday into Thursday.

Forecasters are especially concerned about rainfall Tuesday night into Wednesday, warning that creeks and rivers could flood their banks due to the extra precipitation.
