Free Citizenship Clinic This Weekend

Local Organizations Come Together for to assist U.S. Permanent Residents.

From EACAG: The Eritrean American Community Association of Georgia, along with Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta and the New Americans Campaign is hosting a Free Citizenship Clinic to take place on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10am to 12pm. The clinic will take place at the Eritrean American Community Association of Georgia located at 720 Hambrick Road Stone Mountain, GA 30083. “We are excited to host this citizenship clinic,” said Segen Haddish, a EACAG board member and first generation Eritrean-American. “This is the second year EACAG has applied for a grant from the non-profit organization Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta. We have worked with them to help register new voters and now we will help register new citizens.” The clinic is free and open to all U.S. permanent residents (green card holders) who need assistance in completing citizenship applications. U.S. citizenship applications will be provided at the clinic. Qualified volunteers and attorneys will assist applicants through the process of completing their citizenship applications.
Do I Qualify?

  • You must be 18 or older
  • You have not committed a crime
  • You read, write, and speak basic English
  • You have had a green card for 5 years OR
  • Your spouse is a US citizen and you have had a green card for 3 years

What Do I Bring?

  • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
  • Driver’s License or State ID
  • Social Security Card
  • All Passports
  • Most recent tax return
  • List of home addresses for the past 5 years
  • List of employer’s names and addresses for the past 5 years
  • Proof of public benefits, such as food stamps etc. (if any)
  • Names of the countries and dates you have been outside of the U.S. since becoming a Permanent Resident
  • If married to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident: bring spouse’s green card/U.S. passport, marriage certificate, and divorce decrees
  • For your children: bring green card(s), with complete names and dates of birth
  • Certified final court disposition for any traffic tickets
