Georgia's 200 Best Places To Live For 2019 Ranked: New Report

DECATUR, GA — According to Niche.com, if you want to live among the best places in Georgia, then you should consider moving to select Atlanta neighborhoods or suburbs if you don't reside there already. Seven of the top 10 spots were reserved for Atlanta neighborhoods, while its suburbs grabbed the other three top spots.

For 2019, Niche.com data crunchers, say they have determined the city of Decatur in DeKalb County is the No. 1 best place to live in the Peach State.

"Living in Decatur offers residents a suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Decatur there are a lot of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many families and young professionals live in Decatur and residents tend to lean liberal. The public schools in Decatur are highly rated," Niche.com says.

Niche.com says its "ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall livability of an area. This grade takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area. Learn where our data comes from."

The top four criteria specifically are: cost of living, higher education rate, housing grade, and public schools grade.

Niche.com ranks more than 200 places in its new report and you'll notice when you read the rankings below that many Atlanta neighborhoods and suburbs received their own grade.
