Gift Shop Evicted From Downtown Decatur
Ownership has yet to make an official statement regarding the eviction, which was made official within the last two days.

A popular gift shop in downtown Decatur has been kicked out of its retail space by a county law enforcement agency, according to reports.
Heliotrope, which won a “Best of Atlanta” award in 2008, was closed down as of Feb. 3, reported Decatur Metro. Decaturish added on to the initial report by taking pictures of eviction notices posted on the windows of the shop on Tuesday. The notices were placed by the DeKalb County Marshal’s Office.
Neither Decaturish nor Decatur Metro have been able to discover why Heliotrope was evicted from its shop at 248 West Ponce De Leon Ave., and the only message posted on the shop’s Facebook page directs visitors to Heliotrope’s online store.
