Have a Happy Fourth - Bring your Pet’s Inside! Also, LifeLine Animal Project Invites You to Help Shelter Animals Celebrate their Independence!

More people lose their pets on the Fourth of July than any other time of the year.  One reason is because dogs and cats hear more acutely than we do.  So the deafening noise combined with the bright flashes of light send most animals into panic mode, and they run for their lives. Don’t risk losing them!  Keep your pets safe tonight by bringing them inside before fireworks start.

In addition to celebrating the Fourth, LifeLine Animal Project is celebrating our first anniversary at DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS)!  We’ve made great strides in getting twice as many animals adopted, but with 30 to 40 animals coming in every day, we need more adopters.

So in honor of the Fourth, LifeLine Animal Project invites you to give our DCAS dogs and cats their independence by offering special adoption ratesFor the entire month of July all dogs may be adopted for only $30 and cats for only $17.76!  Adopters will receive a dog or cat that has been spayed or neutered, has had all vaccines and is microchipped – a $200 valueAs an additional bonus, to celebrate our first anniversary, adopters will also receive a free adoption package with veterinarian, grooming and training coupons, while supplies last.

LifeLine’s DCAS Pets of the Week:  Santiago and Pia

Meet Santiago, a sweet and playful two-year-old boy.  Santiago loves to play ball, play with other dogs and be with people.  The staff says he is cute and goofy, and would be a great pet for any family.  Celebrate Santiago’s independence for only $30 during the whole month of July!

Santiago’s friend is Pia.  Pia is a sweet, three-year-old girl who has won over everybody at the shelter.  She simply adores all people and is very eager to please everyone.  Pia gets along great with all dogs and would be a great pet for any family.  Pia is ready to be liberated today!  Adopt her for only $30.
