Huntsville Real Estate Firm Announces $300 Million Experiential Mixed-Use Development in Atlanta

Cabela's is the first tenant, which will include retail and residential space, 38-acre park system and outdoor amphitheater.

Huntsville, Alabama-based RCP Companies, a real estate firm specializing in innovative mixed-use development projects that include the Whole Foods Market-anchored The Shops at Merchants Walk and AC Marriott-anchored CityCentre at Big Spring in Huntsville, today announced plans to expand its growing portfolio to include Jodeco | Atlanta South. The project is an all-new $300 million experiential, mixed-use development designed to transform the way the region’s growing workforce and community lives, works, plays, stays, and shops. Prominent outdoor retailer Cabela’s is the project’s first tenant. RCP Companies director Odie Fakhouri made the announcement.

Jodeco | Atlanta South will include more than 500,000 square feet of specialty retail and restaurants, including an organic grocer and several “best-in-class” new-to-market anchors, and features an artisan food market, an entertainment hub, outdoor fitness and recreation areas, two upscale hotels and approximately 600 sophisticated residences all within an amenity-rich, urban district. Plans include a 38-acre park system that integrates a natural wetland preserve with multi-purpose lawns and outdoor amphitheater, along with a perimeter bike path, boardwalks and trails that offer connectivity throughout the community.

“Our plans for Jodeco | Atlanta South speak to the unique market opportunities that exist in the region and the growing demand for experiential projects that deliver a positive impact in the community,” said Fakhouri. “By building with empathy for the end-user, our developments focus on experiences, soft programming and architectural patterns at human scale, and we’re really proud of that.”

Additionally, the project will feature a 12,000-square-foot Mt. Olive Market food hall, where the best local and regional chefs will inspire the “foodie” community at counters and communal tables.

Urban Design Associates, an internationally-renown urban planning firm based in Pittsburgh, will serve as the master architect for the development.
