I-285 at Bouldercrest Blocked After Serious Crash

Reports say the crash involved 10 vehicles and at least six people are injured.

All westbound lanes of Interstate 285 were blocked Tuesday afternoon at Bouldercrest Road after a serious crash.

DeKalb County Police spokesman Maj. Stephen Fore said six people were injured in the crash, though he described all the injuries as minor.

The crash involved multiple cars and one tractor-trailer.

Major delays were forming on the highway around the wreck Tuesday afternoon.

Georgia Department of Transportation officials told WXIA-TV the roadway is not expected to be cleared until at least 5 p.m. Shortly after 4 p.m., Fore said the interstate would be "opening soon."

Motorists trying to travel westward toward Interstate 75 or to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport were advised to remain on I-20 and completely avoid the southeast corner of I-285.

Fore said that the cause of the crash is still being investigated.
