March 27, 2017. Stone Mountain, GA. Audrey Dixon, who migrated to Georgia through a familiar route - from Jamaica to Maryland and then to Georgia - built a business helping business owners in the medical and business field to build and maintain their businesses. She has provided transcription services and other forms of business solutions for nearly twenty-five years.
Prompted by what she has learned over the years as a small business owner, Ms. Dixon has written an ebook encouraging others to share the considerable knowledge they have garnered as business owners. Ms Dixon believes strongly that, “If you have knowledge in a particular area, that knowledge should be shared with others. To keep the information to yourself is not only selfish, it’s greedy.”
Before starting her own business, Ms Dixon worked in the legal industry for over twenty years providing invaluable transcription and other administrative services to one of the top law firms in Washington, DC and later in Atlanta, Georgia. Her reputation as a top-notch transcriber who practiced accuracy and timeliness, were elements her employers recognized and, later, her customers recognized.
Ms. Dixon’s mentor was her father who owned a small business in Jamaica servicing the car owner by providing batteries. Ms. Dixon is quick to point out that it was only in retrospect that she realized the valuable lessons she learned from him as she witnessed his unfailing consistency in service delivery and excellent customer service. It’s a model she has strived to maintain in her business, stating that, “too often there is a disconnect between the fact that if there is no customer satisfaction, you will very quickly lose customers and if you lose customers, you lose your business! Simple.”
Her book focuses on the how-to of writing a book for print or on-line, including steps and motivation to complete the project. Ms Dixon writes that, “all that is standing between you and a finished ebook is your action. Follow these steps and you will move from thinking about creating your ebook to making it a reality.”
Ms Dixon hopes her new ebook will inspire others to see first and foremost, the value of writing a book for both personal satisfaction and to establish credibility in their business. The goal is for her book to provide the critical motivation for others to create their book, ebook or print, and then to market it.
Ms. Dixon is a wife and mother of two adult children. She and her husband, an accountant, have successfully put both children through college. In addition to running a successful business, she is currently one of the most important warriors helping her daughter to battle cancer.
