Inmates Register to Vote With Help From DeKalb Sheriff
Sheriff Jeffrey Mann and NAACP volunteers hosted a voter registration drive at the DeKalb County jail.
DECATUR, GA — Sheriff Jeffrey Mann and volunteers from the DeKalb NAACP recently helped inmates at the county jail register to vote.
The effort was part of the NAACP's Voices Beyond Bars initiative, according to Decaturish's report.
A total of 134 inmates registered to vote on Oct. 10, the day before Georgia's statewide voter registration deadline on Oct. 11.

According to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, people who register to vote must not be, “serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude.”
