Japanese Restaurant Coming to Decatur
The oriental gastropub will open in late summer, according to a report.

Decatur residents who need a little more sushi or sukiyaki in their lives will soon be treated to a top-notch Japanese restaurant opening in their backyard.
According to FoodieBuddha, Brushstroke Sushi Izakaya will be opening at 316 Church St. sometime this summer. Jason Liang, who was most recently the sushi man at Craft Izakaya at the Krog St. Market, is the driving force behind Brushstroke.
The Izakaya concept is akin to a western “gastropub,” and as such Brushstroke will use only free-range chicken and sauces made on site, FoodBuddha says. Liang even has plans to source his sushi from Tokyo.
