Local Election Results For DeKalb County Runoff
The unofficial results are in for the DeKalb County runoff election.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Runoff elections were held in DeKalb County on Tuesday. Here are the unofficial results for commissioner, sheriff, school board and judge below.
Commission District 1:
Former Doraville City Councilman Robert Patrick - 54.68 percent, 3,913 votes
Cynthia Yaxon - 45.32 percent, 3,243 votes
In the Democratic primary runoff in November, Patrick will face incumbent Republican Commissioner Nancy Jester.
Commission District 6:
Former Clarkston Mayor Ted Terry - 58.62 percent, 17, 241 votes
Maryam Ahmad - 41.38 percent, 12,170 votes
With no Republican challenger, Terry will replace retiring Commissioner Kathie Gannon.

Sheriff (nonpartisan special election):
Incumbent Sheriff Melody Maddox - 63.45 percent, 41,894 votes
Sheriff’s office veteran Ruth Stringer - 36.55 percent, 24,135 votes
Maddox won a separate Democratic primary and will now face Republican challenger Harold Dennis in November to become DeKalb County’s next full-term sheriff.
School Board District 3:
Deirdre Pierce - 55.91 percent, 5,707 votes
Willie R. Mosley Jr. - 44.09 percent, 4,501 votes

Superior Court:
Yolanda Parker-Smith - 68.28 percent, 44,108 votes
Mindy Pillow - 31.72 percent, 20,495 votes
