When/where: Tuesday, March 20, noon to 1 p.m. in the second floor courtroom of the DeKalb History Center at 101 E. Court Square, Decatur.

Why go: Mera Cardenas, executive director of the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance, will give a program about this fascinating but often overlooked spot in southeast DeKalb County. The 40,000-acre national heritage areaΒ  is rich with stories and history.

When/where: Friday, March 23, 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the DeKalb History Center at 101 E. Court Square, Decatur.

Why go: You can enjoy an evening of drinks, nibbles and music while bidding on items donated by local businesses.

Price: The history center says, "This fundraiser is free and open to the public, but it is a fundraiser! We hope that you will donate in support of the DHC."

Tour of Oglethorpe University

When/where: March 31, 10-11 a.m., starting at the Lumpton Belltower at Oglethorpe University.

Why go: Dr. Paul Hudson, an Oglethorpe alumnus and faculty member at Georgia Perimeter College and Oglethorpe, will lead a tour of this college with distinctive gothic collegiate architecture.
