🌱 Man In Burning Van Identified + Log Tractor-Trailer Overturns

Hi all. It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Daily. Let's get this Thursday started off right, with a quick review of everything you need to know about what's happening around town.
First, today's weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 85 Low: 62.
Here are the top three stories in Decatur-Avondale Estates today:
- Thirty-six-year-old Peter McGrath, a mobile locksmith, husband, and father of four, was found dead Sunday on Mecklinburg Place in Decatur in his burning work van. The DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office identified McGrath and ruled his death a homicide. "This senseless tragedy is almost too much to bear," said his wife, Amber. - A tractor-trailer carrying logs rolled away from the driver and crashed into SecurCare Self Storage, a storage facility off of Snapfinger Woods Drive, on Tuesday afternoon. When police arrived they found the tractor-trailer on its side, said a spokesperson for DeKalb Police. The driver was cited for the incident and no injuries were reported. (Decaturish.com )
- DeKalb County police are searching for eighty-four-year-old Harold Russ. Russ was last seen on Jun. 4 near the 2800 block of North Decatur Road in Decatur. Russ is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. (WSB Atlanta)

- Come out for Nerd Night: Gaming, a night of virtual gaming hosted by the DeKalb County Public Library this Thursday, Jun. 9 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event is open to five participants. (DeKalb Library)
