Man Dead, Teen Injured In Decatur Shooting Near Flat Shoals

The teen's injury was not life threatening, police said.

DECATUR, GA — A man is dead and a teenager is injured after gunfire erupted in the area of Shepherds Path and Flat Shoals Parkway late Wednesday night, DeKalb County Police said.

Detectives responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m., police said.

A 15-year-old boy is accused of breaking into cars in the area along with two other possible suspects, police said. When the unidentified man in his 30s went to grab something out of his car, police said the shooting happened. It is unknown if the shots came from the teen.

The teen was found shot near a restaurant in the 4700 block of Flat Shoals and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. His injury was not life threatening, police said.

The man was found shot in the 3400 block of Shepherds Path and taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died, police said.
