Man Grabs Woman Waiting For Rideshare In Decatur; New Sketch

Decatur police are looking for a man who grabbed a woman while she was waiting for a rideshare. A sketch of the man has been released.

DECATUR, GA — Decatur police have shared a sketch of the man who grabbed a woman by her wrist and said, "Come with me. Come with me," according to the City of Decatur Police Department. The Dec. 10 incident happened close to 9 p.m. on the 100 block of Sams Street.

Police said the woman noticed the man across the street as she waited for a rideshare. She said she was standing on the sidewalk when she saw a man standing standing under trees. He crossed towards her like he was going to pass her, but then grabbed her by the left wrist and said, “Come with me. Come with me.” The victim yelled “No!” and jerked away from the man and ran to a nearby building. The suspect turned and walked towards East College Avenue. The victim was not injured.

Police described the suspect as a white man in his late 40s or early 50s, between 5-foot-eight and 5-foot-9 with a medium build and noticeable belly, carrying a bag of red chips. He has thinning gray/white hair and was wearing eyeglasses, light wash blue jeans and a dark short-sleeved t-shirt. The victim's age wasn't specified.
