Man Robbed on East Lake Drive; Police Investigating

The robbery happened on Wednesday night on East Lake Drive.

DECATUR, GA — Police are investigating a robbery that happened Wednesday night on East Lake Drive.

The victim reported he was walking eastbound on East Lake Drive when he heard someone jogging behind him. The suspect approached the victim from behind, grabbed his left shorts pocket and requested his wallet.

"The suspect had his hand in his pocket, implying that he had a weapon of some sort," according to a police statement. "The victim took his wallet out of his pocket and attempted to give the suspect his cash, but the suspect requested the wallet. The suspect ran westbound on East Lake Drive and told the victim to run the other direction."

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 16-19 years of age, approximately 5'8 tall, dark skin complexion, box style hair cut, soft spoken voice, wearing a red athletic jersey with white letters and light-colored knee length shorts.
