Man Robbed At Gunpoint on Clairemont Avenue

The man was walking north on Clairemont near Walden Square Way.

DECATUR, GA -- A man was robbed at gunpoint while walking in Decatur Wednesday night.

Decatur Police say that at about 10:30 p.m. the victim was walking south on the sidewalk beside Clairemont Avenue near Walden Square Way, which is between Scott Boulevard and the Decatur Family YMCA.

He said he saw two men walking south on the other side of Clairemont, then cross the street. One suspect stopped behind the victim, bending down as if to tie his shoe. The second suspect then appeared in front of him, pointing a handgun at him.

The first suspect then grabbed the victim from behind and demanded he walk onto Walden Square Way.

They took his wallet, phone, headphones and watch and ordered him to lay on the ground. Both then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was not injured.

The victim gave police a basic description of the suspects, but with few distinctive details.
