Man Robbed, Punched In Decatur Square
Decatur Police say the victim had just gotten off of MARTA and the robbers asked him for change before attacking him.

DECATUR, GA — A man waiting to meet a friend in Decatur Square early Monday was attacked and robbed, according to police.
At about 1:55 a.m., Decatur Police were called to East Court Square. The man told them he had gotten off of MARTA and was using his cellphone when he was approached by two men who asked him for change.
He told them he didn't have any and walked into the square toward the gazebo to wait for a friend to pick him up.

One of the men then made a gesture with his hand inside his coat pocket, making it look like he had a gun, police said. The other robber took $4 in one-dollar bills and a MARTA monthly BREEZE card from the victim's front pocket.
They told him to run and he ran toward East Court Square, where he called 911. Police say the victim was not seriously injured.
The first robber is described as a black male in his 30s, standing about 5-foot-6 and weighing about 200 pounds. He had unkempt hair, mustache and beard with strong body odor. He was wearing a dark jacket with patches on the chest — possibly a New Orleans Saints or Oakland Raiders logo — and jeans.
