Meth Lab Discovered Inside DeKalb Hotel Room

GBI agents are investigating a dangerous drug laboratory which was uncovered inside a DeKalb County hotel room on Monday night.

A passerby called 911 when he noticed a suspicious person at the Extended Stay in Chamblee trying to remove some materials from the area. Police arrived and noticed smoke coming from one of the rooms, prompting a call to firefighters.

When firefighters opened the door to the room, they discovered a meth lab inside. WSB-TV reports that the hotel was immediately evacuated. The suspicious person fled into nearby woods; it’s not yet clear if they were taken into custody.
