🌱 Million-Dollar Questions In School Audit + Local Job Openings

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Decatur-Avondale Estates.

Good morning, neighbors. It's Tuesday in Decatur-Avondale Estates and I'm back in your inbox to get you caught up on the most important things happening locally. Let's do it...

First, today's weather:

A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 88 Low: 73.

Here are the top three stories today in Decatur-Avondale Estates:

  1. An audit of the DeKalb County School District reveals million-dollar questions — including inadequate documentation of over $950,000 in emergency relief funds. According to the audit, weaknesses in internal processes and organizations made it impossible for the district to guarantee how the money was used in the 2021 fiscal year. The Georgia DOAA has classified DeKalb as "moderate risk" — an improvement from its previous "high risk" designation. (Decaturish.com)
  2. Looking for a new career opportunity close to home? This week's local job listing roundup features full-time, part-time, and seasonal work in and around the Decatur-Avondale Estates region. Visit the link to view all available job openings. Happy job hunting! (Decatur-Avondale Estates Patch)
  3. A mind-blowing new museum is headed to Atlantic Station, about a half hour from the Decatur-Avondale Estates area. The Museum of Illusions, set to open later this year, will display a series of optical and spatial illusions. The Midtown Atlanta exhibit will be the latest in one of 37 locations worldwide.
