'My Parents' Basement' Opens in Avondale Estates This Week
The new watering hole caters to video gamers and comic book aficionados.

Staff Report
The highly anticipated My Parents’ Basement will hold their Grand Opening on Wednesday, August 12 at 11 a.m. Then, on Friday, August 14, the Board of Mayor and Commissioners, City Associates and businesses co-owners Dave DeFeo, Tim Ensor and Lawson Wright invite you to their official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. The community is invited to attend the ceremony and stay to toast after.
Located in the old James Joyce space, My Parents’ Basement will offer a menu of approachable bites and small plates along with an impeccable beer selection, full bar, craft sodas, free video games, and the latest in fan-favorite comic books, including classics and hard-to-find titles. After several years of pop-up shops that attracted people from as far away as North Carolina, Alabama and Florida, the trio behind My Parents’ Basement are set to give craft beer and comic book lovers a new watering hole in Georgia to call home.
