National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, Sept. 27

One day after the first presidential debate, National Voter Registration Day is set for Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016.

Several events are being held throughout metro Atlanta in conjunction with the national effort to get people registered to vote:

• HeadCount: Voter Registration at Georgia Tech 10 am Georgia Tech Campus
• Rock the Vote and Let Your Voice Be Heard. 3 pm International Free and Accepted Modern Masons, Inc. and Order of Eastern Star, Jeff Long Grand Lodge, 1642 Jonesboro Road
• National Voter Registration Day Drive 10 am Kennesaw State University

According to event organizers, 6 million Americans in 2008 didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to register.

Here is a list of other events throughout the metro area.

National Voter Registration Day is set for the fourth Tuesday of September by resolution of the National Association of Secretaries of State.
