Truman will be at the current site of Colbeh's Persian Kitchen, which is closing.

DECATUR, GA -- A new tavern, inspired by the 1980's, is on its way to Decatur.

Truman, announced by its owners on Facebook and via Tomorrow's News Today, will be at 123 E. Court Square, in the spot currently occupied by Colbeh Persian Kitchen, which is closing.

The bar will be owned by Michael Condon and Paul Vinces, the team behind Decatur's Calle Latina, along with food and beverage industry veteran Brian Buchanan.

Buchanan told TNT that Truman will be modeled after Publicans, a tavern in Manhasset, New York that he frequented in the '80's.

He said the name, Truman, came about after he won a vintage pub sign featuring that single word at a middle-school fundraiser.
