New Chairman Elected To DeKalb County Board Of Education

Marshall Orson is the DeKalb County Board of Education's new chairman. He replaces former board chairman Michael Erwin.

ATLANTA, GA — The DeKalb County School District elected Marshall Orson as chairman on Monday, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was elected during the school board’s monthly meeting, replacing former board chairman Michael Erwin who served from 2018 until Monday.

Orson was first elected in 2012. At the time he was a Druid Hills Middle School parent and in the seat he represented Druid Hills, North Druid Hills and Brookhaven. He later served as vice-chairman in 2018.

Vickie B. Turner, who was first elected to the board in 2014, was elected vice-chairwoman on Monday.
