No More Glass Recycling in Avondale Estates

Avondale Estates GA -- Avondale Estates is no longer accepting glass as a recyclable material.

In an email, the city told residents on Monday that it will stop picking up glass on Jan. 1, 2016.

The vendor for Avondale Estates, Latham Home Sanitation, says glass is too heavy to transport and process; it has to be sorted by color; certain types of glass are not recyclable; and broken glass contaminates other recyclables.
