Pair Who Allegedly Shot at Cops in Decatur Indicted

Two DeKalb County police officers were shot in the legs by an assault rifle.

The two men suspected of opening fire on two DeKalb County police officers at a Decatur apartment complex in December have been indicted by a grand jury.

According to WSB-TV, Ivy Shumake and Eddie Ball are facing 63 counts related to the Dec. 14 attack upon officers Tony Luong and Devon Perry at the Colony Ridge apartments. The two officers were responding to a home invasion call when two suspects left the apartment in question and opened fire on the officers with a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Although wounded by the fusillade, both Perry and Luong returned fire and wounded Shumake and Ball. All four people involved in the shooting were treated at local hospitals, WSB-TV said.
